In 1970, Alex Kendrick was born in Athens, Georgia. He is an American director and works with Faith based Dramas. Even though he wasn't involved with very popular films, Kendrick has been involved in many aspects of the film world. He has been an actor, director, editor, writer, producer, and even a composer for a few films.

Kendrick is known for his work in Flywheel (2003), Facing the Giants (2006), Fireproof (2008) and Courageous (2011). All of the films that he has directed are faith based. They all have to do with the main character going through some type of hardship.

For example in Facing the Giants, Grant Taylor, played by Alex Kendrick, is a football coach for the Shiloh Eagles. He is medically unable to have kids, his car keeps dying, and his football team hasn't had a winning season in a long time. He looks to God for guidance. He tells his team and his wife "Nothing is impossible when God is on your side!" By the end of the film, everything turns around proving that his faith is well placed.

These faith based dramas are Kendrick's strong suit and are influenced by his own faith. In 2004, at the Saboth International Film Festival, he won Best Production, Parable Award, and Adam Award (Best Screenplay) for his work on Flywheel. In 2012, at the MovieGuide Awards, he won Most Inspiring Performance in Movies as Adam Mitchell in Courageous.
